Iowa Retina Consultants is a highly specialized practice providing treatment for disorders of the retina and the vitreous of the eye. Our mission is simple: to provide ethical, compassionate care of the highest quality for our patients and prompt, courteous service for all referring doctors.

Established in 1992 and based in West Des Moines, Iowa Retina is comprised of three retina Specialists: Christopher L. Haupert, M.D., James R. Singer, D.O., and Sushant Wagley, M.D.. All of our physicians are board-certified or eligible and have trained extensively at some of the finest institutions in the United States.

The practice has grown over the years, adding offices in Ames, Carroll, Cedar Rapids, Creston, Mason City, and Pella. We enjoy excellent relationships with doctors across Iowa and receive referrals from many physicians throughout the state.

We believe in giving back to our community. One way to accomplish this is to help in training the ophthalmologists of tomorrow. Our physicians combine this interest with their commitment to excellence in their capacity as adjunct clinical assistant professors in the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and also lead instructional courses at the Des Moines University Medical School.
